Here is another plan for a cat-back system that a lot of members have used. http://public.fotki.com/rogor2k/300m_dual_exhaust/ The tone will be mostly determined by the main muffler - in this case a Firebird/Camaro muffler. Cutting the bumper is the scariest part. If you go this route (or any other for that matter) I have a template for cutting the right side to match the left. This is my system. It has a nice soft rumble at idle, and I bought all the parts, cut the bumper, and let a local Midas shop do the rest of the work. This was 8 years ago, and I am still happy with it. It has a slight drone at 1800 to 2000 RPM, but not objectionable. Just don't drive in that RPM range.

I guess exhaust work has gone up. I built the Hujo style as shown in Roger's Fotki link using the Magnaflow, a set of Cone Engineering dual outlet SS tips and all mandrel bent SS tubing. My total out of pocket for parts and labor was just shy of $500, but $150 of that was my tips (which currently sell for $150 each). Maybe try and get them to use SS pipe if you are located in areas of snow and salt. Here is a link to my old set up http://public.fotki.com/cmc300m/my_300m_with_dual/

I hope they used stainless and not aluminum. Our existing system is stainless and you could have some problems later on if it is alum.

I don't get it. You show a picture of the exhaust going to the drivers side in one pic and then there is a tip on the passenger side in the last pic. How did the passenger tie into the exhaust?? I don't see a Y anywhere i didnt notice that i didnt take a picture of that stuff sorry... he cut a hole in the original pipe and welded the new exhaust pipe onto that. and it is steel not aluminum by the way i wanted a more True look rather then dual outlets.

Those tips look really cool, but... Now don't take offense here this is only my opinion. I am not a fan of the muffler showing through the bumper opening, that is why I chose the Hujo system on my '00. And the way you describe the pipe tying in most likely reduces proper flow. you can see the right side of my old set up in this pic. Both side were identical and went to a single in dual outlet magnaflow

300maximilien wrote: Makes sense to me to have him fix his own work well... he did it, he didnt do it right, he shouldve added the y pipe to begin with for the right flow..... im also thinking of getting a special bumper so it fits nicely with the tips. i love the tips by the way...they look beautiful
