Woodward Dream Cruise 2002 |
 Woodward Dream Cruise August 17 - 19, 2002 - Detroit, Michigan
The pinnacle event of the year has become the Detroit Woodward Dream Cruise, the single largest classic car event in the world.  The club has made this a social event each year for the weekend of the cruise and participates with over 30,000 classic cars and almost 2 million people.  Cruising the 17 mile course is an experience that can only be described with pictures and personal experience (see below).  In other words, you should not miss this event.

After all the Detroit activities, the group traveled to Brampton, Ontario, Canada to tour the factory where Chrysler builds the 300M, Intrepid, and Concorde.

On the road to Brampton, we managed to keep a 9-car convoy intact for over 100 miles. Peeling left, peeling right with the precision of the Blue Angels, we passed dozens of amazed drivers in lesser vehicles all along the way.

The folks at the Brampton Assembly plant welcomed us with open arms. The Plant Manager, Terry Desjardins, and several of his staff spent a major portion of their day educating us and answering every question we threw at them. The tour was amazing, seeing the transition from rolls of cold-rolled steel on the receiving dock floor, to a completed automobile coming off the assembly line at the rate of one every 47 seconds. We even saw the beginning of the plant expansion in preparation for the LX cars (to us, that means the 300N) for model year 2004.5.
