Great to see you got it fixed. Just did my timing belt along with some other service and noted it was easy to get tooth "offiness" when the tension-er was released. What a bunch, if we could only fix em from this keyboard.......................

Mine runs great now, but still has the rough idle issue (been there all along)........I guess I'll start looking for vacuum leaks.

Well, weird stuff.........I've been waiting for the CEL to go out on it's own since the codes are no longer valid.

Took a while. It went off today, but the code-pulling procedure still shows them as stored. When will they completely disappear?

Another thing, seems that tonight after it went out, the car seems to run smoother, have more power, and the rough idle is much less noticeable.

TR - maybe you did this already, but did you disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the PCM - perhaps it adapted somewhat to the bad timing and can't correct itself now. Just an idea that may or may not work, but it's free.

Well, it's idled like this before the tune-up and before the timing belt.

But, you could be right........Plus, I spun the engine over real quick without the plus and coils, so it's also stored code 300.

I'll disconnect it.........see what happens. I hadn't thus far due to loss of all memory settings, but yeah, it's had some major things done.....it needs a fresh start :gulp

Sure seems to run better now, I like it!

Does that part of your last post mean you finally did disconnect the battery, and now everything's good, or were you just meaning that, other than the idle problem, everything is good since you got the timing right?

That's it, right there.

Haven't reset it yet, but the wife even noticed it runs better since the light went out. I don't know if I have to explain that, but if she noticed, it made a difference.

Did it fix the idle I'm having same issue I changed the pump belt exc on my 02 m and it has a rough idle and loss of low end power my guess is cause it changes the power band :oops:

Try the battery disconnect "trick" first. PCM relearns fueling and ignition values along with trans shift points when the power is removed for a few minutes. (Constant B+)
If no improvement recheck timing marks. Cams should favor the center of the engine when the crank is at TDC.
