Would anyone like a tutorial on how to fix the dash clock? It seems that there getting harder to find I myself have been stock piling them and now I have 16 working ones :D.

The little clock on the dash seems to be a common broken component on our cars. Never knew that no one attempted to fix it with success, so let's make it public! DON'T THROW IT OUT! These clocks have a inherited flaw with how the output shaft is connected to the motor drive. the permanent fix is just some super glue! So here we go!

You'll need three things, small screw driver , some cutting pliers? Or anything to pull off the hour and minute hands. Lastly a slightly strong tiny piece of wire.

Start by removing the clocks chrome front cover by unclipping the four clips that hold it on.

Next use your pliers to pull the minute hand off first, then again (placing them at the very base of the hour hand) pull up they are both pressed on so a little force is needed.

Now the clocks face is bare hold it and with a rocking motion pull while adding force slowly it will pop right off.

Next you should be looking at just the casing with the gears and on it three screws, remove these.

On the back of the clock are three more screws. They support the three pillers that connects to the upper casing, remove them.

Pull and wiggle the upper casing it will separate from the white base that all the gears sit on. Be careful to not lose the gears along with the little brass spring tensioner that sits on the output shaft.

remove the minute hand pin and gear they are connected. Then the black gear and the lower gear, what you are left with is the motor drive output gear. Use your fingers and grab it! Now pick it out of it's hole! This should not happen, why? Because it should be connected to the motors magnet!

With the motors main shaft out you should be looking at a metal gray cylinder still in the hole, use a small wire with a 90° angle to hook it from the inside and pull it out. And at the bottom of the hole will be a white piece of plastic, this is the other side of the motor gear that broke off. Use the wire to hook it as well and pull it out.

You are now looking at the problem child and it's time to decide it's punishment 😂 for me it was to make sure it wouldn't have the same problem again.

Apply a little glue to the shaft of the motor gear and quickly insert it into the magnet, now apply some to the lower plastic piece and attached it to the lower half of the magnet. Let it dry. It should look like this.

Now lower it into place and reassemble
