are there any actually gains with the k&n?
next to the air-filter box. there is a second plastic box. if a guy were to drill a few 2-3 inch holes and add some foam to filter. would that increase the air volume available to the cylinders?

I believe the baffle box is there mostly to reduce the noise of the intake so I don't know how much suction one would get from there.

Naturally aspirated engines have a static flow of 7psi of air.

The only way to 'increase' the amount of air into the cylinder is through forced induction, be it supercharged or turbocharging.

The only thing with changing things to the intake of any vehicle is the rate in which it reaches its peak efficiency. So drilling holes in the baffle box may result in a bit more noise from the intake.
