Hey guys! First post! I was curious about a few things. Since the 300m special is my first car and is beloved, I think ill keep it for quite some time. That being said, I am wanting to do some mods to it and I hear that the trans in the 300m is rather hindering. I was thinking, would it be possible to install and transmission from a crossfire srt? Any ideas? Thanks!

No it's not possible. Maybe with a lot of cash but not possible

It hasn't been done before. I am sure you could make it happen if you have deep pockets but the trans on the cars are not that bad.
What did you have in mind in terms of mods?

The crossfire doesn't even have the same motor, it has a 3.2 Mercedes motor, and it's a rwd. Theres nothing wrong with the stock Trans anyways

Honestly, I was just told that the transmission isn't the best for performance. Not saying it's bad, just not designed for speed. It seems everywhere I turn, someone somewhere says that it makes it difficult to do performance mods. Or at least make it worth it.

I haven't decided fully on what I was going to do performance wise, but I was definitely leaning for turbocharging. Once I get my car back up to par. (I've got a few issues with the body.) I was definitely interested in personalization though.

Turbo. I've been playing with the idea as well, but I've come to the conclusion, that the lower end of motor is the VERY weak link. It can't even handle high revs. :(

Not to discourage anyone from dreaming but trans upgrades, turbocharging, V8 conversions, and many performance enhancing ideas have been discussed over the years. Unfortunately none have yet come to fruition. Short of grafting a M body onto a performance platform ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) we are kind of stuck with intake spacers, bored throttle bodies (a few NOX set ups) or a "4.0" stroker (2 or 3 exist)
"search" various terms for some history on discussions.
Primp up your M, Mod to your taste and enjoy a great ride.
