Was wondering if I could get all club intel as far as part numbers and specs of UD crank (and possibly OD alt) that work for our LH cars that simply refuse to fade into the void of irrelevance as well as club member experience with such. I've heard good and bad and would love to put it all on the table. I'm at that unfortunate age of 24 where I should know better than to try to make my M a true letter car but young enough where there's a statistical possibility of "tried to squeeze 300 crank horsepower out of a Mopar SOHC" might be etched on the slab of marble I rest my head on and a 10 hp rumor is hard for me to leave alone.

After using our "search" feature, I copied and pasted a few highlights of attempts over the years that have been tried to improve performance of our 3600# family sedans. There even was a guy (vegas) that tried Nitros.
The more YOU"search" the more you will find........

I had seen most of these articles (coincidentally when I did my search) but never saw a specific part number or other specs (considering how dated some threads on here are, and how parts availability might not be what it once was, I was considering some cross referencing and seeing what the local parts yard had to offer). Thanks for helping me get more info in one place, though.

Regarding the underdrive pulley, ASP made an aluminum one very briefly many years ago. Not available at retail any longer, only when a used example surfaces in the classifieds (rare). Not really worth the effort IMO. Biggest gainer I know of is the intake spacer, which is mostly for torque. After that, contact folks well versed in turbos, nitrous, and transaxles, and submit direct deposit forms to send all salary directly to them.

Already done K&N and a hybrid Special "long y" 2.25 " to Base 2.5" style tail with front resonator piped out, rear resonator replaced with a y pipe going to two short 2.5"-3.5" slash cut dual wall tips (similar to neon srt4 to quasi maintain Mopar flavor, still recognize that this is a "sport sedan", and to limit the dialogue of the "You spent HOW MUCH?!" conversation with the old lady). On the group buy for the spacer, have intentions of talking to MaxBore about TB and upper intake (maybe lower too) in the future, and moving battery to trunk to make way for a Banks style Ram Air (mostly for bragging rights, I realize there isn't much to gain from this setup on this platform).

All that said , I'm still curious if I could get my hands on some specs if I might be able to cross reference and find something from March or Jet or maybe find a pulley in the parts yard that would work.

Tho I can not comment anything on the under-drive pulley,

I can offer only the piece of advice of:
Set a goal and stick to it.

Too many projects get half realized and sold off unfinished for parts or end up in scrapyards across the country simply because the vision was unclear from the start and the end goal became to fuzzy and the project runs of of steam half ripped apart on jack-stands.

Also, before doing major changes, check with the racing classes you plan on attending. I relocated my battery to my trunk but I had to have a battery box and cut off switch inline for racing under NHRA rulings (I forget the subsection but anytime the battery is relocated from the factory position there needs to be an accessible cut off switch from the exterior of the car so in the event of an accident, officials need to be able to shut down the vehicle electronics to safely remove you from the vehicle)

Sucks to make a change for performance only to be told to go home because you can't pass tech inspection!!

My rough goal is 300 crank hp (300 brake is too much on transaxle and too much money going to one off custom fab) because it is (in theory) a 300 letter car. Other than that it's paying tribute to the heritage of the 300 line ("minimal" chrome trim, "minimal" badging, play a little on Exner's forward look designs perhaps) and have some "Modern Muscle/Sport Sedan" flavor (18"/19" 5 spoke mag style rims, H&R drop, scoop off a '00-'04 Mustang GT, maybe a few other odds and ends like either the Ram Thunder Road or Night Runner emblem) and I'd love to do a black interior eventually (currently gray).

The key here is this is my daily driver so I can't go too wild. I have seen the write ups on the select few V8 RWD conversions (disappointed that no one's done a 5.9 magnum) and love the idea but doesn't pay us like that.

As far as racing is concerned I might eventually go down the local 1/8th mile but mostly I'm aiming for "this is my M, there are many like it but this one is mine".
