Unless there is an engine in the 3.5 family that shares bore centers, etc you would be looking at starting from raw billets. Just the engineering work to design a head, cams, and all the mating hardware, drive system, etc. not to mention the cost of CNC machining all those parts. At this point you would have a boatload of money invested and would not even know if it would start. No real advantage to DOHC over SOHC unless you are going to Variable valve timing. It might be an entertaining exercise if there was an existing DOHC head casting in the same family but otherwise it's just not feasible unless you have 100k burning a hole in your pocket. If you are interested in doing something like this do it for a more current in production engine that you have a chance of selling some to recover your investment.

It would be nice if someone would eventually do that.

I remember seeing a thread where someone changed from pre 02 to later year electronics. Could probably just do the same thing with something outta 2012. Be full electronics swap, might be SOL with a clean looking shifter set-up. Then just gotta figure out mounting to transmission and engine bay ;)

Where there is a will, there is a way.

...well, at least that's what they say. I suppose with the right amount of money, these swaps could be doable. Would be neat to see an LH car outfitted with a Mopar powerplant that didn't exist until nearly a decade after the LH cars ceased production.
