First off, I recently purchased some Black Magic products. It's been a while since I bought any of their products for a few reasons, but given my past experience with one of their products, I assumed that they had some quality present-day products to back up their claims. I now think I was wrong. I bought their Titanium tire wet (not good), Titanium Synthetic Wax (not good), and Titanium Wheel Cleaner (JUNK!). Stay away from Black Magic IMO... other OTC products offer more bang for the buck.

However, my question is, about 10 years ago, I bought a bottle of "Black Magic Paint Protectant." I think I spent $6 for it. It was a Black Magic spray-bottle, and some of the ingeredients of the "Paint Protectant" included Teflon and Silicone if I remember correctly. By far, that was the best overall detailing spray I ever owned. That cheap spray bottle lasted me a couple of years, and I found that the application of it the painted lasted 6+ months with excellent smoothness, water beading, etc. The shine was amazing too, expecially on dark colors.

Ever since my bottle of that emptied out a long time ago, I have never found it on the shelves since. I also have not been able to find it on the internet. I did find one local auto parts store that claimed they had it, but it turned out that they mistook it for Black Magic INTERIOR Protectant, and not the Paint Protectant. Any ideas or info? Did Black Magic stop making this stuff for some reason, or am I just having really bad luck finding it on the shelves anywhere? It's a shame if they nixed it, because it was the one and only product that really had me sold on BM in the first place... seems like by the time I used the bottle up, it was defunct. Any ideas?

Thanks for the link... I didn't mean to sound too harsh over Black Magic, let's just say I have had a few "less than desireable" experiences with them lately compared to other OTC products. I am however curious about their spray detailer, and I wonder if it is indeed the same formula they used to have or not, especially since they changed the name of it. The old formula had Teflon in it as well. I haven't found that claim yet, but I'm not ruling it out either.

In the meantime, I have been turned on somewhat by TW's ICE products. It may not be Zaino, but I would say it is close when compared to many other OTC products.

I have to agree about Black Magic. Their interior protectant leaves a white dry looking color to both my Trep and 300M. The titanium tire shine looks very nice but it slings all over the place. I'm about done with them.
