I think I will likely use the Princess Bayshore hotel at 48th Street.
http://www.princessbayside.com/index.php
It is a 1 block walk to the beach. Hotel has WIFI in every room and has two pools.

I can get Thursday/Sunday rooms ranging from $69 to $99 and Friday/Saturday rooms ranging from $99 to $129

There are three levels of rooms. Regular, Efficiency w/kitchenette and Efficiency w/kitchenette and bayview. I believe the Efficiency is $20 above base and the Bayview adds $10 more. Most of the rooms are two queen beds. It is a 100% smoke free hotel.

Ocean City is 153 blocks (9.1 miles) from Inlet to Delaware Line
Roughly 16 blocks is a mile, 8 is a half etc.
Just for reference this is

48 blocks North of the Rt 50 (Southern) Bridge
14 blocks South of the Rt 90 (Northern) Bridge
96 blocks South of the Delaware Line.
57 blocks North of the Inlet entrance
7 blocks North of the Convention Center

1 block South of Seacrets. Simply the BEST niteclub in ANY beach town ANYWHERE. Crawl home available.

20 blocks North of the Salty Dog

8 blocks South of Macky's
http://www.mackys.com/

12 blocks South of Fager's Island

17 blocks North of the Jolly Roger

5 miles to Hooper's Crab House
http://www.hooperscrabhouse.com/index.php

5 miles to Baja Go Karting
http://www.bajaoc.com/

Folks,

This can be an incredibly fun meet but it CAN be expensive.

Budget information. Every piece of this is optional of course but if you chose to do everything here are some rough ideas.

Hotel for 2 nights = $240
Friday Dinner @ Hoopers = $40 (per person)
Registration for the Inlet car show & parade = $50
Go Kart Racing (2 hours) = $36 or $7 per ride
Mini Golf $5 per round
Saturday Dinner TBA = $35-$45

Sitting in a lawn chair with a cooler watching hundreds of Hot Rods cruise up and down the strip Friday and Saturday nights? FREE!!!!

ALL of this is optional and getting a standard room and splitting cost can bring this cost down, but I wanted everyone to get a handle on the cost factors. I do not plan to register my car in the show itself. The only real benefits are that you get to park in the Inlet parking lot AND you get to drive down the boardwalk in the parade.

That Silver 300M Special in the picture with Trevor's M was mine. I still talk to Trevor quite a bit. He sold the M and has a pretty crazy Accord show car right now.

I have been waiting for years for this meet to come back. I no longer own the M but would still like to come down and catch up with everyone. I will check back for final details.

Sorry guys, I no longer have a fridge in my trunk to keep the beer cold.

Keith

Let me know when you are heading down Hank and maybe we can caravan there.

No room for the fridge with all the speakers in the trunk of the Lincoln. Sold the LS too.

Driving a Mercedes now. No more show cars for me at the moment but it would be awesome to catch up with everyone.

I will send you my number Hank. It changed last year.

When do you think you will be heading down.

Is the hotel reserved for us yet or do I need to wait some more before I call?

Thanks

I would love to join up with you guys for the drive down to MD. I wias planning to leave CT by early afternoon - picking up my son at school and heading out. What time were you all planning? I'm flexable.

Alan, my wife has a daycare and rather than screwing up the parents schedules she waits until kids get picked up and then we bounce out. Been working out 630-700PM Thursday arriving OC 2-3AM Fridaydepending on stops. Looks like Keith likes the over night trips too.

Will keep you guys in the loop as things firm up.

Hmmmm- not sure my schedule now. I was hoping not to take my son out of School FRI and leave early afternoon. But I thought the dates (until I looked more closely) were FRI-MON, not THU-SUN. So I think I will leave THU. We'll talk more as this gets closer I'm sure.

Is everyone staying @ the Princess? Looks very nice. Don- is there a group registration setup yet?
***UPDATE*** I just called the Hotel - the Standard Queen and Bayview rooms are sold out for SAT the 10th. Only the Delux Efficiency Queen, sleeps 6 w/ pull-out couch, is available THU-SUN. Also - the HOT DEALS rates are only available thru on-line reservations- $60 less than phone reservations.
So I defer to Don for now pending any updates on a group reservation.

Any one else going to drive in the parade? Of course- my son insists!! Would be nice to run a few M's, plus we get inside parking. I just emailed the event folks to see if there were openings still - they have a 1500 car limit.

THX - looking forward to seeing everyone!

If you leave Thursday night we can meet up and drive down together. Hank and I are loosely planning on leaving MA around 9 or so. The overnight trip isn't bad and we usually bring 2 way radios to talk to each other.

The parade was first come first serve in the past. I am not sure if it has changed since the last time I went but in 2004 I drove in it with a bunch of the other M's.
