Originally I wanted to make this a 3-day event but due to unforseen circumstances, I may or may not have Fridays that month available. I hope to know more with a couple of weeks but wanted to get a sign up list started.

Yes, just a Saturday & Sunday event. I'll be working my new job and will be working that Friday. :)

Not attending a meet before, what goes on at an event like this? It would be nice to attend (about 8 hours each way for me) but I would need to see if I could get the time off work (not easy to do in the spring/summer months for my job) before making any travel plans.

Thanks for the inquiry, Jim. This meet will consist of all things M. There will be mods worked on, cars detailed, and with maintenance issues performed as well. I think one of the guys wants to do his timing belt replacement while he's here. I've got the tools and a 3 stall garage from which to work from. The camaraderie is 2nd to none when I've gone to other meets of this nature and I want to share that here as well.

I'll try to throw some food together for Saturday afternoon while we can collectively put something together for Saturday night.

If you haven't been to a meet and you have some work to be done to your car, I highly suggest it. See what you can do. :) Where would you be driving from, Jim?

Cory is an awesome fella, the fix it meets are far more fun to me then the established meets such as Carlisle or Indy, theres no pressure, just kick back and work on cars!

Cory, I live in Akron, Iowa (right on the border of SD and about 25 miles from the NE corner of Nebraska. Another tough thing for me to attend a meet is that I work during the night (8:30pm - 6:30am) so trying to be up when I'm used to sleeping during the day would be a real challenge and unfortunately taking a week off from work isn't a good financial option for me at the moment (and winning the lottery is proving tougher than I thought it would be :P ).

Make your plans for April and attend one of the meets. They're is alot of activity in the LH community coming in April. As it stands, I beleive this one is the furthest west. Make some plans and join us here in Galesburg. It's what this club is all about.

I expect to be making my hotel reservations in the next couple of days. What about the rest of you guys? Let's make this meet something that Cory will want to do again.

I was thinking of doing the same. What hotel are you staying at?
Maybe we can share rooms and split costs depending on how many people are staying.

The most reasonable one is probably the Super 8 about 10 miles down the road in Knoxville. Last year when I checked, I could have reserved these for about $49/night. I think the priced match a place downtown but I knew that location wasn't great (trains). Better location with price in mind would be the Comfort Inn. That's about 2 miles down the road. Both are very easy to get to. Best Western Plus would be another alternative and would be about 5 miles away. Just checked their site and their "internet rates" are better than their Best Available Rates.

I was considering the Comfort Inn and will probably go there. The Super 8 had some really bad reviews online. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
