All we have to do is pay the balance and con family members in the area to transport us. My parents and sister live a couple hours north near Stuart/Jensen Beach/Port St. Lucie. My cousin and uncle are in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Plane tickets are already paid for (buy them on a Sunday!). My passport is good through 2021 (got it to go to Grand Bahama Island). He applied for his last week or two weeks ago... 6-8 weeks turn-around time. Four months!

Fun fact: The Royal Caribbean MS Allure of the Seas is one of two ships in the Oasis class. Her sister ship is the MS Oasis of the Seas. Technically, they are the same ship with different names. However, Allure is the largest passenger vessel in the world (and will remain so until the Harmony of the Seas launches in a couple of years). How much larger is Allure than Oasis? About 50 millimeters. The difference is due to the temperature of the steel at the time each ship was built. Allure was built at a shipyard in Finland from pre-assembled sections, much like a Lego set. Each of her six diesel engines consumes 1300 gallons of fuel per hour at flank speed (22-23 knots), and her three Azipod propeller systems have a 360 degree swivel for the best manueverability.

Horsepower? 3x 18,590 HP 12V46D's, and 3x 24,780 HP 16V46D's. Just a touch more thrust than our Ms...

Yes, Nick got bored a few nights and looked that information up. Leave it to me, the engineer, to be more interested in the technical specifications than the attractions when watching the informational videos.

Another fun fact: The Allure uses two navigational systems. The modern state-of-the-art electronic systems, and the tried-and-true paper maps and sea charts with classic manual tools.

Oh, and there's an aquatic theatre, living central park, Starbucks, etc. etc....

Been on a few cruises in my life
some great things I remember about a cruise:
Casino..though be careful not to gamble more than u can afford to lose..odds on bj are worse than vegas..their rules are different
Food, food, and more food..gourmet meals, room service, midnight pizza and burgers..plan on gaining a few pounds
Entertainment in the big auditorium..pretty decent acts
Live Poolside music with calypso bands..
Great weather and swimming in the big pool
Skeet shooting off the back of the boat
several lounges with various types of music
Piano bar to unwind late atnight
If you have a few too many drinks ..drinks are expensive by the way unless u byob..u don't ' have to worry about driving home..it' just a short walk.stagger..to your room..or you can sleep on the top deck under the stars
You get to visit several islands with no need for packing and unpacking your stuff
Cruises offer the best deals for vacations

Bon Voyage!

Take Lots of pictures
