The housing to block o-rings were done at the same time as this pump, tensioner and belt earlier this year.

Can't win with the parts for these cars.

I appreciate your comments, Bob. I pressure tested the system at about 11 psi for 3+ hours with no signs of leaking. I'm hoping the stain on the left is residue from the past. Though you make a good point about the tensioner. But I'm unfortunately not comfortable going any further than this. It's not my "Happy Spot".

What are the odds of the orings and the waterpump going out at the same time when replaced within 6 months? Sigh.

I would seriously doubt the orings could fail that quickly. “We” discovered this issue in engines with some 150k+ miles on them.
Thinking about this, Engine rotation would sling dripping coolant onto the tensioner where the water would evaporate leaving the stains.
I always test the pressure cap just to be sure over pressurization didn’t cause the pump to fail.

Interesting findings when looking at the new, ACDelco water pump. If one looks closely, the ground area on the upper-right face of the water pump was an attempt to remove the pentastar logo.

New oring that came with the ACDelco water pump was exactly as remembered. The one that was removed seem much thicker.

OEM Mopar seal ring does appear more robust than the aftermarket ones. Unless the mounting area is pitted the aftermarket ones seal just fine.

I wouldn't use the AC Delco oring. I would order the OEM oring, with the bumps around it. Holds on much better. I've had too much trouble with aftermarket.
