should there be oil in the plenum. I'm cleaning the throttle body and replacing he plenum gasket and as i turned the plenum over on its side oil started to drip out

Common occurence. IIRC, I had like cup in mine when I removed the plenum on our 2004 some years ago.

so no real casue that i should be concerned about and fix asap

As mentioned completely normal, had oil in both my Intrepid and 300M when I swapped the plenums

A lot of people with aftermarket intakes bypass the PCV hose adn use a breather to stop the oil form getting in

Normal for our engine design to have this happen. PCV vapors add up to some oil deposits in the plenum. My guess is when it reaches a certain level some is drawn in to the engine and burned off. Have not heard of anyone having "hydraulic lock" issue (yet)
Routine PCV maintenance should keep it "normal"
