You can replace it with bulbs harvested from a junkyard. Or using the bulb base you can add a LED bulb and resistor. Radio Shack used to have direct fit replacements.

Dunno if the bulbs are the same, but the local dealer here told me they wanted 12€ per bulb for the AC controller.

I went to an electronics repair shop (they generally do TVs and stuff) and got bulbs for 1€ a piece, screwed them onto the bulb bases. Was a pain getting the old bulbs out, but it was possible.

LED + resistor might be a better way to go, though.

PS: Stuff like this is why I never visit the dealer here. They overcharge like hell. ATF+4 is 25€ a quart, for an example. Since I develop a leak every month or 2, it's cheaper for me to use a generic oil and, if the transmission should fail, replace the transmission. So far, it's been a year and the generic oil (Liqui Moly Top Tec 1200) hasn't blown anything up.

Hey FIREM would you be interested in letting one of those bulbs go?

Turns out I used the last one in the Pro-Am,
Best bet, get one from an yard. Used clock less $$ than an bulb from the dealer.
