With some 2002 mods and an interior swap, that would be a sweet ride. I never could get a feel for that interior. :(

The tough thing about a car like this is that (even though they look beautiful) the tires are no good - older than eight years - and, theoretically, the timing belt should be replaced. You're looking at $1500 (if you have the work done) on top of what you pay for it if you are going to do the safe thing. I'd say that makes the car not worth much more than $8,000. I'm guessing they will be able to get over $10k for it though.

4K miles on a 13 year old car, that's only a little more than 300 miles a year! I wonder who owned this car and where they drove it?

The "Blue Book" highest retail for this car (with 4K miles) is $6,152; the asking price of $11,999 is $5,847 over Blue Book.

If the car was garage kept the whole time, and at least run regularly and long enough to keep sludge from forming, it might be worth the money compared to what is available out there in the used car market for 12k. Only problem is insurance. Unless you can find an insurance company willing to do a stated value policy you will be out at least 6 grand in the event of a total loss accident.

That is a lot of work.
