Both of these dealers show the part in their system. Might be worth a call to see if they actually have them, they should ship it right to you.

I did some research for you yesterday and could not find any on eBay.
I use Partsvoice and it is usually pretty accurate with dealership part inventory.

This could be a problem as our cars get older.

You may have to go to a yard and pull one that is in good condition.

I can't think of another option at this point except continuing to check eBay.

I sent a message to this dealership-

H W Hunter Dodge
LANCASTER, CA 93534

It says they have two in stock. Figured I would check in with them just in case.
I am at work and unable to call but I will let you know if they email me back.

May have no choice other than replace the plastic part with Fuel Rated High Pressure Hose. Must be Fuel Rated Working Pressure 50+ PSI.
(There are aftermarket ends and adapters available but I need to check size first)
You may be able to slice the plastic section off the pipe and the quick disconnect but MUST be sure of the hose and clamps used and protect the hose from chafing.

I've been told it is still available. New part number is 5083036AC -- list just under $80 and is apparently still orderable.

May be I was given the wrong info.

Just my 2 cents.

HI Folks. I need some help in this area if you please. Would this be the same part number for a 2001 as far as you all are concerned? The reason I ask is that the part number I got from the dealer, and I got the printout from his computer to validate that, is 05010225aa, now revised to ac.

While I don't have the smell, I've been wondering about my gas mileage lately. A combination of reading about this issue, plus, now that I think about it, I seem to have seen a few times an odd puddle under the car under the passenger rear door'ish, but the car's acceleration still seems very good, not to mention I don't want this beast to catch on fire brought me to this conclusion.

So I thought I would ask the group

Has anyone attempted to replace the fuel line? It looks like this part is one piece that goes all the way from the tank to somewhere behind the engine. Can it be done without lifting the car?

Can't really be done without some lifting.....you have to get underneath. What I did is I put it on my driveway ramps. I have two that I made (wood) and two I had bought. You can't drive my special on the ramps so I lifted each side then put each tire on a ramp. With that space I was able to replace it. Hardest part is getting it at the engine side ....the rest is easy.

Is it necessary to lower fuel level at all?

Don't remember that I did...all I did was just relieve the fuel pressure that was in the line...

Nothing I see online shows them being the same. They may be but I am not able to confirm.

5083036AC replaced the AB version at some point as well.

Two nearby Chrysler dealers said that p/n 5083036AB and the part that preceded it (05010225AC) only fit up through 2001 models of the 300M. Mine is a 2004 so I am wondering whether this line would fit my car as well? I had a repair facility nearby me that they tried to attach the fuel line to the fuel rail but failed using commonly available fittings such as those made by Dorman and others. They told me the 0501.......part number superceded the original one for my car but again only fit through 2001 models.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Since no one was able to reply to your question, which is the same one I had, I took a chance and ordered the 05010225 line that is still available through the dealer and put it on my 2004 Chrysler and it worked! What a relief.

Using a high pressure fuel injection rubber hose just didn't seem like a safe bet over time given the bend it would need to make to connect to the fuel rail plus the proximity to the close coupled catalyst on that side of the engine right below it.

The dealers all insisted the part would not fit so I took a chance and ordered it knowing that if it didn't, I still owned the part since the parts book said it wouldn't fit and they had to special order it. Chrysler was screwed up in those years with those superceded fuel lines and just never cleaned things up in the parts books.
